The first 10 minutes was fantastic; it was 1-1 and a fast paced exciting game. Then Chicago scored to make to 2-1 and poof the Edmonton Oilers disappeared.

The score of 4-3 (Chicago) doesn’t represent the game at all. Thank goodness for Khabibulin keeping the Oilers in the game. He showed his old team just how good he can be stopping a penalty shot and breakaway (just name a few). I’m Team Khabibulin, Roloson who…?!

The rest of the team looked like they fell asleep between the first and second period. I would be nervous for the season like last year but I’m not. Thanks to Pat Quinn, I know the 2009/10 Oilers will show up next game. Pat Quinn has renewed my faith in our young team. If someone has a bad game you can beat it won’t happen again the next game or hello bench. Look at what putting Sam Gagner on the 4th line at the start of the season did. Gagner dropped the gloves… and scored goals.

As I was watching the game on TV they kept mentioning Mac T and how hard it was to coach the Oilers. I was getting super annoyed… Mac T is NOT the coach anymore. I don’t really care if he now works for your network. Start talking about Pat Quinn and how much impact he has had on the team already. The Edmonton Oilers have showed more in a few games than did all season last year.
Let’s hope that is the last time we see the 2008/09 Oilers.
